Donald Trump Appoints Pam Bondi to Key White House Role After Firing Her — Report

Pam Bondi will reportedly oversee coordination between government officials and the technology executives serving on the panel. Her role appears designed to streamline communication as the administration grapples with regulatory questions surrounding artificial intelligence. Vice President JD Vance issued a statement praising the appointment. “Pam has been an enormously valuable asset to the president’s team, and I’m thrilled for her and for all of us that she’s going to remain involved in confronting some of the most important issues the administration faces,” Vance said. Separate from the AI panel, Bondi will also take up a newly established advisory position focused on national infrastructure. Details about that role remain limited.

Personal Health Challenge

Moreover, the appointment comes as Bondi is going through a personal health challenge. Sources told the outlet that she was diagnosed with thyroid cancer shortly after leaving the Justice Department. She has undergone treatment and is in recovery. Pam Bondi has maintained a close alliance with Trump for nearly a decade. During the 2016 Republican presidential primary, she endorsed him over Senator Marco Rubio of her home state of Florida. Years later, she served on his legal defence team during his first impeachment trial.
