One of Fox News’ most recognizable women is moving up at the network, informing viewers on Friday in an emotional send-off.
Emily Compagno delivered the farewell to “Outnumbered” viewers Friday as she wrapped up more than five years as a permanent co-host before moving to “The Five.”
Compagno, who joined the Fox News daytime panel as a permanent co-host in 2021, used her final moments on the program to thank viewers and the staff who helped make the show a success.
The longtime Fox personality is now headed to a new permanent role on “The Five,” the network’s highly rated 5 p.m. program.
Her departure marks the end of a lengthy run on Outnumbered, where Compagno became a familiar presence alongside the show’s rotating panel of hosts and guests.
During her signoff, Compagno expressed gratitude to the audience that followed her throughout her time on the program, as well as the producers and crew who worked behind the scenes.
The move represents a significant new chapter in Compagno’s Fox News career as she shifts from the network’s daytime lineup into one of its most prominent evening programs.
“And now everyone watching, after almost six years, I’d like to express my deepest gratitude to all of you at home who trusted me to help deliver and analyze the news every day at noon ET,” Compagno said.
She then turned her attention to the people behind “Outnumbered,” thanking those who helped put the program together each day.
“And to the incredible crew on this stage, my executive producer Trina Thompson, and to our entire ‘Outnumbered’ team, whose dedication, professionalism, and sheer talent are the reason for this show’s excellence day in and day out,” Compagno said.
“It has been an extraordinary privilege and an honor to serve as a co-host of ‘Outnumbered’,” she added before signing off with a nod to her next assignment: “From now on, see you at 5:00.”
Compagno will officially take her permanent seat on “The Five” on Tuesday, Sept. 8, joining longtime co-hosts Greg Gutfeld, Dana Perino and Jesse Watters.
Harold Ford Jr. and Jessica Tarlov will continue rotating in the program’s liberal seat, giving Compagno a regular place on one of Fox News’ most prominent programs.
Fox News announced the move last month as part of a broader shake-up involving one of the biggest shows in cable news.
The promotion marks a major step up for Compagno, who has steadily expanded her presence across the network after becoming a permanent co-host of “Outnumbered” in 2021.
Fox News Media CEO Suzanne Scott praised Compagno following the announcement, calling her a “standout” and saying her “energy and talent” have made an impression across the network.
The move now puts Compagno in the middle of Fox News’ high-profile evening lineup, where “The Five” has become a ratings powerhouse and one of the network’s signature programs.

The move also creates a high-profile vacancy on “Outnumbered,” where Compagno had been a permanent fixture for more than five years.
Fox News said a rotating group of network personalities will temporarily fill her seat while executives search for a permanent replacement.
Compagno first joined Fox News as a contributor in 2018 before being elevated to a permanent co-host of “Outnumbered” in January 2021. She had already become a familiar face to viewers through frequent appearances on both “Outnumbered” and “The Five.”
Her latest promotion now gives her a permanent seat on one of Fox News’ most successful and closely watched programs, marking another major step in her rise at the network.
“The Five” averaged 3.6 million viewers during the second quarter of 2026, according to Nielsen data released by Fox News.
