Just last week, the goofiest thing ever took place: Someone actually got a federal judge to block Trump’s UFC event at the White House, scheduled for later this evening. In a rare breath of fresh air, a separate judge appointed by Barack Obama lifted that injunction, and the fights will take place tonight as planned.
But again, Trump getting a rational ruling from a federal judge appointed by any Democrat president is not common. So on Friday, yet another left-wing loon issued another goofy decree that has everyone around here scratching their heads:
A left-wing activist federal judge on Friday ordered the Trump administration to restore propagandistic signs and exhibits related to slavery, climate change, and other contentious historical topics at America’s national parks and monuments across the country.
U.S. District Judge Angel Kelley, a Joe Biden appointee, issued a preliminary injunction requiring the Interior Department to reinstall the displays within 21 days after ruling that the removals likely violated federal law.
The lawsuit was brought by a coalition of conservation, historical, and scientific organizations, including the National Parks Conservation Association and the American Association for State and Local History.
In her ruling, Kelley said the administration had removed materials that “do not align with its preferred narrative,” and claimed that doing so undermined the integrity of the national park system.
“Removing these signs not only undermines the integrity of the National Parks; it sets a dangerous precedent of censorship and sanitization,” Kelley wrote.
The dispute stems from a March 2025 executive order signed by President Donald Trump directing federal agencies to eliminate what the administration described as “false revision of history” in parks, monuments, and memorials.
First things first. This ‘judge’ is a full-blown race activist first, and an officer of the federal court system a distant second.
With that in mind, there is no question she wants the displays reinstalled because they convey her far-left viewpoints. To her, national park displays should be politically weaponized to tell an ‘America Sucks’ narrative, because she obviously thinks America sucks. Why these people don’t move is a mystery to me.
But to the ruling itself, her opinion that the plaintiffs will succeed on the merits of their case is just that – her opinion. In a sane world, the president and his appointees get to decide federal policy on what is and is not displayed in our national parks. Using the ‘censorship’ argument is garbage; there are lots of views that are not represented in our federal parks.
And that’s not what they are there for, anyway. In part, they are learning centers to inform the general public. As such, the Trump administration is correct in its argument that information presented at parks has to be accurate. I’d almost guarantee that for every Judge Kelley who still thinks America is a racist craphole, there are 10,000 or more Americans who don’t believe that. What’s more, “human-caused climate change” is an unproven theory pushed by the left.
I would expect this ruling to be overturned and pretty quickly since Kelley gave the Trump admin just 21 days to comply with her insanity.
