PAULS VALLEY, Okla. (KTEN) — Pauls Valley Public Schools on Tuesday released surveillance footage of the April 7 shooting incident in the lobby of the high school.

It shows the suspect, identified by police as 2025 high school graduate Victor Hawkins, entering the area with a gun and appearing to fire one shot into the lobby.

Hawkins then turns his attention to an unidentified student sitting on a bench in the lobby, who put his hands up and was told to leave, according to court documents.

Seconds later, Principal Kirk Moore, wearing a blue shirt, ran out of his office and tackled the gunman and slammed him into a bench as he was shot in the leg.

Hawkins told investigators that he had planned to kill students, faculty members and himself “like the Columbine shooters did.”

Hawkins, 20, is facing a total of five charges, including shooting with intent to kill.

No students or other staffers were injured on that day. Moore was treated for his leg wound and released from the hospital.
